James Carney is father to two, husband to one, pastor to thousands, mentor and friend to countless individuals. For the past 24 years, Pastor Carney has served as Senior Pastor of Woodlawn Church in Columbia, MS. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Accounting.

Previous to his tenure as Senior Pastor, he was a standard cost analyst for six years with International Paper Company. For 13 years, he served as general manager and Secretary/ Treasurer or TL Wallace Construction Company, Inc., where he still serves as Chairman of the Board. His ministry in the past two decades has been marked with excellence, honor, and promotion. He served the MS District UPCI for four years as District Superintendent, and currently serves on the Board of Presbyters. He serves on the Board of Directors for Gateway College of Evangelism, Tupelo Children’s Mansion, and Lighthouse Ranch for Boys - all UPCI endorsed institutions.

While honored to serve, and humbled by ministry, his greatest passions remain his wife of forty-three years, two sons and their wives who have followed him into ministry, and five wonderful grandchildren.
